Experience Gained In Snowball Derby Week For Spencer Davis
Qualified into Both the Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100
Recently turned 15-year-old Spencer Davis accomplished one of the biggest tasks of his 2013 racing season. It wasn't the fact that he's ran in 60+ races from January-December. What he did however was qualify into two of the most prestigious races in the country; the Snowball Derby and the Snowflake 100.

The fast 1/2 mile high-banks of Five Flags Speedway (FL) served as the backdrop for Davis' strong efforts as he would lock himself into both shows in Pole Qualifying and not have to run either of the dreaded last chance races for those who didn't lock themselves in through time trials.

Although both races didn't exactly go as planned with finishes of 20th in the Snowflake 100 for Pro Late Models and 24th in the Snowball Derby for Super Late Models, the Dawsonville, Georgia learned a lot that he can apply towards his future.

"The goal was to make the Snowball Derby, which was the #1 focus for all of us. We made the show in the Snowflake too, which is pretty special to get in on time in both races," The Peach State teenager stated. "We got caught up in that wreck in the Snowflake, but only managed to lose a lap and finished 20th with a damaged racecar."

In the Snowball Derby, things didn't fare much better for Davis; "We just didn't have enough speed. The car was good, but the raw speed just wasn't there, especially against this field," He continued. "But we hung in there, turned some laps and learned for the future. We'll be back for sure and try it again."

The 2013 racing season is over now for Davis and crew as they get ready to begin the 2014 campaign on Saturday-Sunday, January 25-26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA) as the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour co-headline SpeedFest 2014 in Cordele, Georgia, a three-hour drive south from the Dawsonville, Georgia race shop.
