Spencer Davis Ready to Round Out Busy 2013 Schedule with Snowflake and Snowball Derby
Georgia Driver Traveled All the Way to Maine before Ending Season in Florida
There are not many things that Georgia driver Spencer Davis did not try this year.  Davis captured his first Pro Late Model win at Gresham Motorsports Park in 2012 and went on to a heavier schedule of Super Late Model competition in 2013.

Davis competed in several events throughout the Southeast with the Southern Super Series and PASS South and even took on the famed Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME).

“We’ve definitely been to some different places this year,” said Davis.  “We’ve been anywhere from a circle, I guess which is Oxford, to a Nashville, a big half-mile.  The biggest thing I’ve definitely learned this year is how to adapt to the car throughout the race - you know, how to manage tires better, throttle control and those kinds of things.

"Learning what the track is doing throughout the race was also a big thing.  I learned how to give Micky (Cain), my crew chief, better feedback.  I was able to tell him what the track was like more this year than I could last year and stuff like that.”

After a long season competing all around the country, Davis will now set his sights on Pensacola, Florida for this year’s Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late Model Snowflake 100 as well as the Super Late Model 46th Annual Snowball Derby.

“We’re running both races this year,” said Davis.  “We’ve got both cars ready and hopefully we can go down there and come out of both races with a good finish.”

Davis attempted to qualify for the 45th Annual Snowball Derby in 2012 but didn’t make the show.  This year Davis feels they are both better equipped as a team as well as himself as a driver.

“I’m just looking forward to going back down there this year,” said Davis.  “Hopefully we can make the Derby this year.  I believe we have better equipment and definitely a better driver than we did last year as far as Supers go.  But hopefully we can get another solid top-10 qualifying in the Pro car and hopefully the same in the Super.

"I think we’re more than capable of doing it now but I’ll just be glad to get in like everybody else will be.  I know there’s 60 or 70-some-odd cars that are going to be there and have the battle is getting in the other half is making it through practice.”

The Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late Model Snowflake 100 will roll off at 7:30 pm CT on Saturday night, December 7.

Qualifying for the 46th Annual Snowball Derby will take place at 6:00 pm CT on Friday night, December 6 and the green flag will fall at 2:00 pm CT on Sunday, December 8.
