Spencer Davis Finishes Seventh at Montgomery
Young Pilot Records First Top 10 in the Southern Super Series
Spencer Davis took home his first top-10 finish in the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco this past Saturday night at Alabama’s Montgomery Motor Speedway.  Davis finished seventh at the tough half-mile oval.

“Our weekend started good, we were real fast in practice,”
said Davis after the race.  “Saturday rolled around and
everyone came in late because of the rain.  On our second
lap in practice, we broke the rear end and that really
messed up our practice.  We ended up getting 20 or 30
minutes of practice out of the 90 minutes.  We were loose
in practice and tight in qualifying.”

Davis qualified 10th for the 125-lap main event.

“We struggled at the start of the race because we were too tight and it actually got good at the end,” Davis said about his race.  “I figured out what the line was to make the car turn and got up to ninth after falling back a little bit.  We came in during the break to make some adjustments.  We came back out and got up to seventh and stayed there until the end.  Overall, for how the day started, we didn’t have a bad finish.”

Davis will have a busy weekend coming up.  On Friday, he will be competing in his Pro Truck at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL then he will head to Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, AL for a 50-lap Pro Late Model event.
