Solid Fifth Place Finish For Spencer Davis At Caraway
Mason-Dixon Meltdown Next Before Snowball Derby Week
The North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway (NC)
offered a chance for 14-year-old Spencer Davis a
chance to draw close to the top two in the PASS South
Series points standings. After qualifying sixth quick and
starting from the outside of the second row, Davis
would take the lead early in the race and set a torrid
pace in hopes of leaving the rest of the field behind en
route to a potential first Win in the regional series.

However, Fast Qualifier, Lee Tissot got by on lap 57 of
the 150-lap main and at the end of the race,  Davis
would manage to hang on for a fifth place finish.
However, the Dawsonville, Georgia driver wasn't happy
with the top five when it could've been so much more.

"We really did have a good weekend overall. We got
the lead and then everyone else decided to go and one guy got into me, which caused us to get loose. We were still good though, we got back up into the top five and then we were just trying to hang on with all the accidents everywhere." He stated.

"It was crazy there at the end with everyone getting into each other," Davis, who turns 15 on November 29th continued. "We weren't going to have a car to contend with and then our car was super loose after everything that happened. But we're happy with a top five despite everything."

"We're definitely getting a lot of momentum here for the end of the season. We've got one more of these (PASS) races and then we're focused on the Snowball Derby and we'll hold our heads up high. We're ready for that one." He ended.

The next race on the 2013 schedule is on Saturday, November 23rd as the PASS Series wraps up their 2013 season at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) with the Mason-Dixon Meltdown. Going into SNMP, Davis is solidly in third in the points tallies behind points leader, Jay Fogelman and reigning champion, Kyle Grissom.

Barring anything unforeseen, Davis will stay in the last podium position in the final points standings.
