Spencer Davis Brings Home Top-10 in Florida Governor’s Cup 200
Davis Now Focused on Snowball Derby Weekend
For Spencer Davis, the 2012 season has been a learning experience.  That theme continued into this weekend’s Governor’s Cup 200 at New Smyrna Speedway where Davis says he learned a lot working his way through the field to his 10th-place finish.

“First I’d like to congratulate my car builder Augie
Grill on winning the race tonight,” said Davis.  “We
didn’t get the qualifying lap we wanted.  We ended
up in the back, but worked our way forward.  Then
we had some brake issues that put us in the back.
It’s my first Governor’s Cup and we finished in the
top 10.  We had a strong car the last three-
quarters of the race and I thought we still had a
shot to win before we had the brake issues.”

After running at the Florida track all season,
Davis is now ready to head back to Five Flags
Speedway for the Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late
Model Snowflake 100 and 45th Annual Snowball
Derby to put what he’s learned to use.

“We learned a lot this weekend and we’ll go on to Pensacola,” said Davis.  “We had a real good car there earlier this year and capable of winning, but just little stuff happened.”

The Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late Model Snowflake 100 will take the green flag on Saturday, December 1 followed by the 45th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 2.
