Deep South Double Header Brings In Two Top Tens For Davis
Georgia Teen Has Momentum Headed In To World Crown
Spencer Davis netted a pair of top ten finishes over the weekend at two of the Deep South’s trickiest race tracks.

On Friday night, Davis started third and finished sixth at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and brought home a fifth place run the next night at South Alabama Speedway in Opp.

“I thought I could get (Mike) Garvey on the start, but like it is here, people start spinning out here really quick,” said Davis after the race in Opp. “Overall it was good night and a good weekend, it is sure better than have a wrecked race car, that’s for sure."

Davis got in to a rough racing exchange at Opp with Hunter Robbins, who was driving a Ronnie Sanders #18 car this weekend. The drivers were able to settle their differences and go the separate ways.

Davis’ next race will be an attempt to run the prestigious World Crown 300 in his home state of Georgia. The World Crown is a Super Late Model race, and to help with the learning curve Davis will receive help from one the South’s premiere drivers, Augie Grill.

“If I could win, it would be simply amazing,” said Davis. “I think Augie is going to crew chief us over there, and he will help a lot. I would be the youngest winner ever of that race and would be cool to keep in the state of Georgia. To be able to beat guys like Paul Kelley and Jeff Fultz would just be awesome.”
