Davis Gets Solid Top Five Run At Opp
Crew Chief Swap Nets Results
Spencer Davis enjoyed one of the better nights of his Pro Late Model career Saturday night at South Alabama Speedway.  Davis rolled off eighth in the Pygmy 100, and had solid, confidence-building night with a fifth place finish.

“I just can’t qualify right now,” said Davis.  “We have Hunter’s (Robbins) old crew chief with us and it made a difference.  The car stayed up under me the whole time and we ran some fast laps coming up through the field to get a top five.”

Davis was surprised that his No. 29 Core Race Products machine did undergo big changes throughout the event.  It was something the young Georgian wasn’t expecting, but was happy that it happened.

“That car was pretty fast tonight,” said Davis. “Every race we have had, the car has changed a good bit.  I was expecting it to change again, because you have to run it so hard all the time.  It got a little loose, but that was on me.”

Davis’ next start will take place this weekend at Montgomery Motor Speedway, a place that he has ran really well at in the past. Davis lead over 60 laps of a 100 lap race there last month.

“I look forward to going back to Montgomery,” Davis said. “We have always been fast there and then had some tough luck, but it’s looking like the luck is turning around for us.”
