Davis Picks Up Another Top 10 At Montgomery
Scores Win in Support Division Feature
Spencer Davis continues to impress, while trying to get the hang of Late Model racing.  Davis soldiered through a rough night at Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL) and salvaged a sixth place run in the Show Me The Money Series.

Davis was involved in two on-track incidents, and was sent to the rear once for spinning another competitor, but was in high spirits after the event.

“We were coming up through the field pretty good, and then we got behind the 2 of John Bolen,” Davis said.  “I gave him three shots in the bumper, trying to be nice, and he kept pinching us off.  Sometimes you just got to move people.  I feel like I am getting the hang of the Pro, and it fells really good.”

Earlier in the night, Davis drove his No. 29 Core Race Products Truck to victory lane in one of the support division events.  He started third, and worked his way to the lead by halfway.  When Davis was able to get out front, he never looked back and cruised to a win.

“It’s something I really like,” Davis said about running his Truck.  “I have a pretty good handle on it, and it’s just my deal.  It’s like Augie or Bubba running Supers then sliding in a Pro, they know what needs to be done.”

Davis and his crew will face a quick turnaround to get ready for his next event, the JEGS 50 at Gresham Motorsports Park (GA) on Wednesday, July 18th.  Davis says that Gresham has become his home track and looks forward to going back.

“I like Gresham, said Davis. “It has turned in to my home track since Lanier closed down. We about won the track championship there in our Truck, it’s a fun, fast race track.”
